About the job
To develop the systems, applications and supporting processes to improve the Engineering and Infrastructure directorate of South Western Railway. To be subject matter expert for Hexagon EAM (the Engineering and Infrastructure asset management system). Design and implementation of the training programmes required for the development of colleagues, ensuring that they achieve and retain the required competencies for the use of systems.
Your main responsibilities will be:
* Support the Engineering and Infrastructure team to deliver an effective asset management system to support train, plant, and facility maintenance.
* Work with suppliers to deliver the most effective solution.
* Develop and support the asset management system (Hexagon EAM).
* Identification and delivery of improvement initiatives, including system/application development projects, whilst driving key process improvement, continuously reviewing current engineering practices to enhance productivity & efficiency to deliver agreed KPIs.
* Work closely with local Line Managers to identify training requirements, develop effective solutions and evaluate the effectiveness of these solutions.
* Develop and maintain an atmosphere that is conducive to learning and encourages the attitudes, values, visions and behaviours of the organisation.
You'll need:
* SQL experience.
* Power BI experience.
* Strong stakeholder relationship management skills – ability to influence across the organisation.
* Strong analytical ability, judgment and problem analysis techniques.
* Desirable – Training experience.
* Desirable – Hexagon EAM experience.
* Desirable – Bachelor's degree in an engineering or computer science discipline.

About the location
Wimbledon Traincare Depot is a short walk from Wimbledon Park station and recently welcomed its first Class 701 train, marking a significant milestone in the £1bn transformation of suburban travel. Our current fleet operating on the suburban network (Class 455, 456, 458 and 707 trains) will be replaced over a 2 year period with 90 brand new 701's. Drivers, maintenance and other depot colleagues are currently in training to develop the new skills needed for the next generation of trains that will be fitted with all new modern technology. Wimbledon depot will eventually become the new maintenance home for the entire Class 701 fleet.
Working pattern
Working an average of 37 hours per week across 5 days. Normal business hours. Some evenings / weekends as required for business needs.
