Person specification Education & Qualifications Essential criteria Relevant degree in health care related subject Master’s degree in healthcare related subject or demonstrable ability to work at master’s degree level Professional management qualification (NVQ level 4)/ working towards postgraduate level or equivalent recent senior management experience Essential Criteria Skills, abilities & competencies Significant knowledge and understanding of nursing operations and professional issues in an acute Trust. Comprehensive understanding of change management approaches demonstrating experience of leading change programme, with innovative solutions Evidence of understanding of the principles of nursing workforce profile, strategic workforce planning and workforce deployment issues Significant evidence of leading the development of nursing care responsive to the evidence base, national and local policy and good practice guidelines Evidence of understanding and leading on the nursing, Clinical Governance agenda and practical approaches to implementation ensuring robust systems are in place Evidence of analysis, interpretation, and facilitation of complex data or information relating to the role Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, able to communicate sensitive, complex/contentious information relating to patients and staff with empathy and reassurance where there are significant barriers to understanding.
