What's involved with this role: Title: Interim Building Inspector - Building Control Job Ref: Stockport 0009 2954 / 1 Pay Rate: up to £60.00 per hour PAYE depending on experience Hours per week: 37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours Role Length: This opening assignment is for 1-2 months City: STOCKPORT Hybrid working You will undertake a varied workload of plan assessments, site inspections, investigating reports of dangerous buildings and other related Building Control activities. You will be required to undertake site visits and complete site reports. Office presence with the flexibility to work at home where required. Key responsibilities: Manage a portfolio of construction development sites, including non-domestic low risk schemes (including new applications). Providing accurate information, advice, and professional support to businesses and/or individuals, in accordance with the inspection framework. Liaising and/or consulting external agencies, stakeholders, statutory undertakers and members of the public as necessary to ensure a seamless approach to the provision of guidance and service delivery Positively contribute to a strong, efficient, and effective performance culture with a focus on service excellence. Qualifications: Hold Registered Building Inspector status at either Class 2a (Domestic); 2b (General) or 3 (Specialist) Preferably possessing a Professional Building Control Qualification (e.g. RICS, CABE) Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of building regulations and legislation. Comprehensive understanding of the key legislation related to Building Control, including the Building Act, the Building Safety Act, the Building Regulations, etc. Experience: Some considerable experience in Building Control, either in the public or private sector, and understand the main duties required of a Registered Building Inspector. Skills & Abilities: Possess the IT skills necessary to deal with the electronic processing of plans and email communication with stakeholders.
