Act as Team leader within the Post-Operative Critical Care Unit (POCCU) and Intensive Care Unit (ITU) on a shift basis. Provide support to the Band 7 Group Leader in the management and development of staff Provide leadership to service improvement cluster group you are allocated to. To supervise and instruct junior colleagues and be a resource for them in the clinical area. He/ She will undertake comprehensive physical and psychological patient assessment resulting in a clear plan of care for critically ill ward patients. Maintain a Critical Care 24 Hours Outreach service across the Trust and provide high quality nursing support and care to all acutely unwell adult patients outside critical care area. Engage 24-hour outreach service working in collaboration with the Hospital at Night team and Advance Nurse Practitioners. Transferring patients to appropriate areas when beds are identified. Attend cardiac arrests and medical emergencies as part of the internal urgent and emergency response team. Assist in the educational support of MEWS in the clinical areas to deflect the need for the Critical Care admission through close monitoring and early intervention. Assist the Band 7s in responsibility of the critical care outreach team.
