What you’ll do:
The post holder will be part of a multi-skilled team of 8 craftsmen and 4 assistants, working a 24-hour rotating shift pattern. Using specialist knowledge, training, and qualifications, the post holder will ensure the safe operation and maintenance of complex plant, equipment, and control systems across the hospital.
1. Perform planned and emergency mechanical/electrical tasks to high standards.
2. Ensure full compliance with Trust and Sodexo Health & Safety, Infection Control, and Permit to Work systems.
3. Carry a page/emergency bleep for timely response to calls and a mobile phone for communication with staff.
4. Prioritize workloads and act quickly in emergency situations to prevent injury, damage, or loss of life.
What you bring:
1. Conduct fault finding diagnostics on various mechanical (HVAC, Medical Gas, BMS) and repairs.
2. NVQ 3 or equivalent experience working with either HVAC, Heating, Medical Gas or BMS.
3. Previous experience in CAFM and BMS systems would be beneficial.
4. Experience repairing plant and equipment, as well as the ability to fault find, read drawings, diagnose, and repair equipment using your technical knowledge.
5. Ability to keep work pace and meet deadlines, along with good organization skills.
6. Great communication skills, strong teamwork, and a positive attitude.
7. Capable of working as part of a team or unsupervised, and of remaining calm under pressure.

Package Description:
37.5 hours per week
£15.33 - £18.66 per hour
Recruitment retention payment additional £3,500 per annum
Standard overtime paid at 1.5x
Bank holiday overtime paid at 2x
27 Days annual leave + bank holidays
4 weekly recurring rota
The Successful candidate will have a relevant NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and be able to provide certificates via email prior to being progressed to interview stage.

Week 1:
Tuesday - Thursday 6am - 2pm
Friday - Sunday 2pm - 10pm
Week 2:
Wednesday - Sunday 10pm - 6am
Week 3:
Monday - Tuesday 10pm - 6am
Friday - Sunday 6am - 2pm
Week 4:
Monday 6am - 2pm
Tuesday - Thursday - 2pm - 10pm
