Location: This role is based in The Quadrant:MK. This role is a full-time opportunity, flexible working patterns will be considered. For Quadrant:MK, you must live within 90 minutes of The Quadrant.
Band & Salary: Band 3B 46,701 - 53,589

Brief Description
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior SHE Data & Reporting Analyst to join our team at Network Rail. You will have a strong background in data analysis and reporting, with the ability to translate complex safety, health, and environmental (SHE) data into meaningful insights that support informed decision-making. An excellent communicator and collaborator, you will work closely with stakeholders across the business to ensure our SHE performance is accurately monitored, benchmarked, and continuously improved.
About the role
About the team: Technical Authority's purpose is to support our front line to deliver safe and efficient performance for passengers and freight. We do this through providing technical leadership and specialist expertise, managing the National Control and Competence Frameworks, facilitating technical growth and lateral learning, and assuring regional delivery.
Our role is to find creative technical solutions to problems, to set effective strategy and policy, to cut red tape, to find better ways of doing things, and to provide strong competence and assurance regimes that make sure we do things effectively.
What does the average day look like?
You will lead and manage in-depth cross-functional analytical reviews, working closely with executive leaders across the business to define scope, ensure effective delivery, and generate meaningful insights. By guiding senior managers and teams within the Technical Authority, you will shape assessments of risk, assets, operations, and design, translating complex data into clear, actionable information to support informed decision-making. Your leadership will extend to presenting key findings to executive leaders, overseeing the overall review programme, and establishing robust processes for tracking performance improvements. Additionally, you will benchmark review practices against industry best standards, enhance data capture and forecasting methods, and provide expert guidance in analysis and reporting. Through mentoring and knowledge sharing, you will empower teams to use data effectively, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Essential Criteria
* Detailed knowledge of good practice data analysis and reporting/presentation processes and techniques.
* Broad knowledge of railway systems and safety risk management arrangements.
* Able to clearly define the scope of review and analysis workstreams.
* Able to confidently engage with and gain the support of executive directors and senior managers.
* Able to both direct and undertake the detailed analysis of key safety, health, and sustainability risk areas.
* Able to accurately and concisely summarise the findings of risk review and to recommend areas for further action or improvement.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent presentation skills.
* Excellent eye for detail and proofreading skills.
* Proficient user of Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel (formulas, pivot tables, and charts).
