Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the RUH Learning Disability and Autism Team. In the role as learning disability and autism practitioner you will be intrinsic in providing high quality patient care and person-centred support to individuals in the hospital. We are expanding our team to increase the support offered to people with learning disabilities and autistic people, to achieve the best possible patient experience and patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will have substantive experience of working with people with a learning disability and autistic people. Main duties of the job Have a passion to improve care and support for people with a learning disability and autistic people. Work as part of the Learning Disability and Autism Team to support people with a learning disability and autistic people in hospital, alongside families and carers. Work collaboratively with our community partners to provide a person-centred approach to care and support. Supervision and guidance for Band 3 student nurse associate Support the Trust staff in providing direct patient care, to provide high quality, evidence based, safe and compassionate reasonably adjusted care. Promote patient autonomy through education and support so that individuals can make informed choices about their ow Support the development of learning disability and autism training. Facilitate, deliver and evaluate a range of education and training programmes for all members of RUH staff Planning and assessing for people with learning disabilities and autistic people to inform intervention to support their patient journey. Assist and support in identifying and defining areas of improvement and develop targeted teaching and learning activities for individual wards and areas. This may include working alongside staff to role model good practice. Support in disseminating and embedding learning from local reviews and national reviews, including LeDeR.
