The project:
The Sizewell C Project requires an experienced Logistics Lead to drive the delivery of logistics for the Civil Works programme working in collaboration with the Works Alliance (CWA) and Site Operation teams.

This role leads the Logistics function for the project which itself provides support to the Delivery Teams. The Logistics Team contains two primary strands: the facilities, processes and arrangements that the project needs to develop to support the construction within the MCA and the systemisation of working arrangements that create the most economic ways of constructing the works.
Youll be responsible for:
* Defining the interface between the Sizewell Site Delivery team and the CWA so that there is a clear understanding of who does what for the project.
* Understanding the requirements for the whole of the project to define and establish what support the Logistics team provides.
* Providing expertise in logistics management, drawn from best practice in the industry to optimise construction of the works.
* The provision of: Labour, Plant, Site Wide Materials and Consumables, Accommodation, Security, Transportation of materials and consumables to the site and around the site, Site wide Emergency Arrangements and Off Site storage.
* Co-ordination with the Sizewell Site Delivery team relating to: How people get to work, The office and operative accommodation within the site, Security arrangements for the project and working areas, The traffic management arrangements around the project.
* Communicates the capability of the Logistics function within the project team.
* Create the budget for the Logistics Function to include staff, premises, services and methodology for charging relevant cost to the appropriate delivery functions.
* Oversees and takes accountability for the overall delivery performance of Mace Logistics to include, risk management, supply chain development and enhancing the Mace brand and its profits.
* Ensures Construct & Consult understands the ML service offer.
* Assists Business Unit Director to secure opportunities.
* Supports the bid management/estimating process ensuring tenders are properly managed.
* Implements stringent risk management procedures throughout operational delivery.
* Manages Clients briefs, to draw up action plan and proposal.
* Develops a clear plan for developing client relationships.
* Acts as single point of contact and responsibility for business customer.
* Implement customers business solution.
* Creates integrated solutions.
* Maintains and build relationships with Supply chain partners.
* Assists in developing a procurement strategy for Mace Logistics central and Projects.
* Provides performance feedback of suppliers on projects to SCM.
* Ensures Mace environmental targets are achieved within Mace Logistics business.
* Leads the Mace Logistics contract team with specific area of responsibility.
* Provides coaching and "hands on" leadership to production staff.
* Works with Business Unit Director to set targets for contracts and Mace Logistics contribution.
* Accountable, with the Commercial Director, for the financial performance of Mace Logistics.
* Delivers commission service levels using Mace/Mace Logistics processes and procedures.
* Ensures each project and suppliers close out to aid lessons learnt and continuous improvement.
* Implements all production reporting processes and procedures as an integral part of the Mace Logistics Quality Management Plan.
* Co-ordinates and submits monthly reports to Mace Logistics Business Unit Director.
* Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition.
Youll need to have:
* As relevant, PM/CM etc but not stipulated, experience more important.
* Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, Powerpoint.
* CSC Accreditation - Black.
* NVQ Level 6 Gold Card.
* Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or accepted equivalent qualification.
* Good communication across various levels of management.
* Ability to lead a senior team of logistics professionals and manage a multi cultural workforce.
* Good presentation skills.
Youll also have:
* CLOCS Practioner.
* MCIOB.
* CILT - Member.
* Ability to recognise upskilling opportunities for logistic leadership team and make appropriate decisions on appointments.
* 10+ years in construction.
