As a Project Design Engineer, you will play a critical role within a well-established, dynamic Engineering team, with a strong emphasis on project documentation, process coordination, and cross-functional project management. Mechanical design, MRP and SolidWorks proficiency are essential. £38,000 plus bonus Early finish Friday Free parking Your job will be varied one and will involve; Develop, maintain and manage comprehensive project documentation, including design specifications, requirements, change logs, and technical files. Ensure all customer documentation is accurately interpreted, referenced and tracked Control and archive project records to ensure alignment with quality standards Create and manage project schedules, milestones, and task assignments Coordinate cross-functional project teams, ensuring clear communication of project goals, timelines, and responsibilities. Facilitate regular project status reviews and update stakeholders on progress and risks Work with design and engineering teams to ensure design outputs align with project documentation and customer requirements Manage design reviews and gate processes, handling all project deliverables Oversee and document all design and process changes throughout project execution Collaborate with purchasing and suppliers to source and validate components for designs Maintain records of supplier specifications, purchase decisions and performance tracking Assist in the development of project cost estimates, supporting Sales and Management in generating accurate quotes Track project expenditures against budgets and document variances Identify project risks and maintain a risk register Collaborate with internal teams to proactively mitigate risks and address issues Ensure all designs and documentation adhere to regulatory standards and best practice Facilitate seamless transitions from design to production through structured documentation handoffs Support internal reviews to identify lessons learned and best practices for future projects The successful person will have; Previous experience in Mechanical design is essential SolidWorks proficient Strong organisational, interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills Ability to communicate clearly and effectively across all areas of the business PC literate Previous MRP experience and navigating through product structures Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise and react to assigned tasks Hands-on, process orientated and highly driven self-starter with good planning skills and versatility to adjust to changing priorities Capable of managing multiple tasks either in New Product Design or Bespoke Projects.
