The Role They are seeking an articulate and energetic marketer, with at least three years’ relevant experience to provide a maternity leave cover for approximately 12 months. Working as part of a small team, this is an exciting time to join the Marketing department, playing a pivotal role in communicating the School’s brand and values to a wide range of audiences. They seek to ensure that the School is well-known and understood in its marketplace and beyond, and to strengthen its market position as a leading independent boarding and day school. Reporting to the Head of Marketing you will assist in the delivery of the strategic marketing plan and will become involved in many aspects of School life, working closely with all members of the marketing team and other members of staff across the School. Main Duties School News: Be the ‘champion of School news’, celebrating activities and events across the whole School community. This involves: Creating the termly News Comms Plan, ensuring all relevant School events, activities and national days are included. Gathering School news from academic, co-curricular and support staff departments. Assisting in creating engaging news content for social media, the website and the newsletters, ensuring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Posting School news on the website accompanied by high-quality images. Newsletters: Responsible for the production and distribution of newsletters to staff and pupils, governors, prospective parents, prep schools and parents (although parent newsletters are sent out by the Foundation team). This involves: Liaising with departments across the School. Creating the newsletter in Mail Chimp. Extracting email data for prospective parents from iSAMS, liaising with Admissions to establish the Admission Status of families to receive the newsletter. Scheduling the timing of newsletters, coordinating with Admissions and Foundation timetables. Social Media: Implement the School’s social media strategy. This involves: Taking responsibility for ensuring regular posts on the School social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter). Maintaining, regularly monitoring and posting on the School’s social media accounts. Creating and sharing videos and images with relevant and high-quality copy. Researching the trends in social media and identifying new social media platforms that may be relevant for the School. Working with the in-House designer to produce attractive creatives for social media. Design and deliver training and assistance to other staff to enable them to contribute to social media. Independent Schools Show: Responsible for managing the annual Independent Schools Show in Battersea. This involves: Organising the collateral to be distributed at the Stand Working with designers to create the stand Preparing the profile for the Show Guide Producing a briefing document for the staff attending the event Attending the event on both days - Saturday and Sunday in mid-November Photography: Ensure a stock of high-quality photographs routine and ‘hero images’ for use on the website, publications and social media. This involves: Capturing images of School events, regular school fixtures, trips. Coordinating internal photography resource (by liaising with teachers and other members of staff to capture and supply suitable images) Booking external photographer/s to cover major events or photo shoots. Skills and Qualifications Essential: Degree educated or graduate calibre Excellent command of the English language Demonstrable experience of writing engaging and compelling content for online and offline communications and literature Experience leading projects from concept through to completion Good working knowledge of using digital platforms in a creative and effective manner Experience in MailChimp, InDesign, PhotoShop, website content management systems.
