I am currently looking to speak with an operational candidate who will take up the position of Project Engineer for our client based in Sunderland.
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000+ Pension + Hybrid
Candidate Industry Background: Construction / Mining / Nuclear / Rail / Refinery / Chemical
Company Background: Client is a leading COMAH infrastructure business and operator of several critical UK energy sites, currently working on a number of new projects such as CCS / Hydrogen and alternative energy.
Key Responsibilities:
* Delivering projects from start to finish
* Cost control and management of contracts
* Develop Project Execution Plan in line with company procedures and client needs
* Define contract completion criteria and create closure plan
* Assist in crafting project proposals during bidding phase
* Review all project and contractual documents post contract assignment
* Manage project costs, budget allocation, and spending approval
* Develop and oversee project schedule, monitoring progress and identifying impacts
* Maintain project cash flow projection, flagging any risks or negative cash flows
* Lead internal and external project meetings, ensuring progress alignment
* Coordinate project activities across various stages for schedule adherence
* Generate internal project summary reports and communicate progress regularly
* Produce external project progress reports as per contract requirements
* Attend client meetings to provide project updates and status
* Review and approve invoices before payment
* Identify, log, and manage project risks and opportunities
* Manage changes to contract scope and develop variations or compensation events
* Oversee quality management, addressing non-conformances and issues
* Conduct formal project closure, including cost assessment and lessons learned documentation
Minimum Requirements:
* HND OR degree in engineering
* Project management qualification (PMI, APM)
