About the Role:
I am seeking an experienced Scaffolding Coordinator to join my client's team on a high-profile power station project in Immingham. This role is for a 10-month contract with potential for further opportunities. The Scaffolding Coordinator will oversee all scaffolding activities on-site, ensuring compliance with safety standards, managing subcontractors, and coordinating scaffolding requirements to support construction schedules.
Scaffolding Responsibilities Overview
1. Scaffolding Layout & Design: Collaborate with engineering, project management, and site teams to create scaffolding layouts that fulfill both safety and project specifications.
2. Installation Oversight: Direct the assembly and installation of scaffolding structures, verifying compliance with precise specifications and industry safety standards.
3. Safety & Regulatory Adherence: Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal safety regulations (e.g., OSHA). Conduct routine safety checks and audits on scaffolding systems to maintain compliance throughout the project.
4. Crew Supervision & Coordination: Manage scaffolding crews, ensuring team members are trained, adhere to safety protocols, and complete tasks efficiently with a focus on quality.
5. Scheduling & Timing: Develop and manage work schedules to ensure scaffolding is set up or dismantled as per project timelines, maximizing efficiency.
6. Risk Evaluation & Issue Resolution: Perform risk assessments for scaffolding operations, addressing potential issues related to structural integrity, safety, and timelines.
7. Quality Assurance: Regularly inspect scaffolding installations to ensure stability and compliance with safety standards.
8. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records on scaffolding inspections, maintenance activities, and certifications. Provide management with comprehensive reports on project progress and safety compliance.
9. Collaboration Across Teams: Coordinate closely with site managers, safety personnel, contractors, and subcontractors to align scaffolding needs with other construction activities.
Qualifications & Skills
1. Experience: Minimum 3-5 years in scaffolding coordination or a related construction role.
2. Certification: Current scaffolding qualification or certification (CISRS, OSHA, or equivalent).
3. Safety Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of scaffolding safety standards and best practices in construction site safety.
