Job Description: To provide effective Mental Health Social Work (MHSW) in support of a designated Department of Community Mental Health, Defence Mental Health Social Work Service and the wider Defence Mental Health Services Contribute to the development of service delivery, suggesting developmental initiatives in support of observations. Manage patient caseloads according to DCMH allocation processes and practices as directed by the clinical team lead and the MHSW Regional Lead. Support the management of the DCMH by providing direct delivery advice for MHSW to the DCMH manager (single post locations) or the MHSW Regional Lead (dual post locations). - Provide SME knowledge and guidance for Health & Social Care and Safeguarding Lead for the mental health team. Undertake such additional clinical/management tasks as may be appropriate to the grade and the role agreed in discussion with their line manager / HoS. Some travel and occasional overnight stays will be required in this role. A full UK driving license is essential Ability and willingness to deputise for line manager when appropriate and requested. Essential Requirements/ Qualifications/ Experience: Must be an appropriately qualified and experienced Mental Health Social Work professional. Be registered with the SWE, SSSC, CCW or NISCC Degree in Social Work or equivalent Diploma in Social Work (DipSW) Certificate of qualification in Social Work (CQSW) An understanding and working knowledge of all social care legislation Mental health Act (MHA) (83), Mental Capacity Act (MCA) (05) inc deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLs)(LPS), Care Act 14, ECHR (98), Adult and Children safeguarding Policies. Must be an experienced Mental Health Social Worker with post qualifying experience of working in a mental health setting. Experience of working with clients with a range of complex mental health difficulties. A thorough understanding and working knowledge of mental disorders and treatment options including the recovery model. Caseload management experience in a multi professional setting A thorough working knowledge of the Mental Health Act (83) and subsequent amendments. An understanding and working knowledge of all relevant legislation MCA (05), including DOLs / LPSy, Care Act 14, ECHR (98) and Safeguarding. Safeguarding Level 3 and willing to train as level 4 as required / or that of the devolved Nations. Must hold a full driving licence. Must be in date and able to provide certification for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Safeguarding Adults up to and including Level 3 training.
