Iconic Resourcing are delighted to be partnering with our key client, Scottish airline Loganair, in their search for a newly or recently qualified accountant to join the business in an Engineering Accountant role. This is a truly unique opportunity for someone making their first move from practice or industry post-qualification, offering a really interesting balance of financial and management accounts, analysis, business partnering and project work.
The unique nature of this role is borne out of Loganair being Scotland's only airline and working with the Engineering department, supporting a P&L focused on maintenance, engineering and aircraft costs.

Key Responsibilities
* To support the FP&A Manager in monitoring and controlling engineering and aircraft-related expenditures against budgets and forecasts
* Executing month-end processes P&L and Balance Sheet reconciliation processes
* Overseeing stock movements to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance
* Lead and develop the Engineering Finance Analyst, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth
* Analyse month-end direct maintenance, engineering and aircraft fixed costs against budget, forecast, and trends
* Assist with providing commercial analyses used for decision making by management
* Assist with developing targets and benchmarking processes to challenge the business stakeholders
* Collaborate closely with the Engineering Finance Business Partner, providing support on ad-hoc projects and ensuring that upcoming engineering initiatives are accurately reflected in the financial statements; ensuring seamless integration of operational activities into financial planning and analysis
Previous Experience
The successful candidate will likely be a qualified accountant, either direct from practice or with experience in industry. Experience in a fixed assets role or in an engineering firm would be highly advantageous but not a requirement. A strong continuous improvement mindset would be a clear advantage, as would experience in mentoring junior staff.
