Head of Commercial Finance | M&A | PE | Commercial Contracts
Overview:
* I am recruiting the Head of Commercial Finance for a £50m Private Equity (PE) backed organisation operating under a long-term commercial contracts business model.
* My client is at a very exciting point of their evolution, they are entering a scale-up phase and looking to rapidly double in size. To achieve this, their focus will be on acquisitions (M&A), whilst driving revenue across both existing and new customers.
* To enable the business to exceed their growth targets, a new Head of Commercial Finance is required to lead the Commercial function, ensuring that the organisation is focused on driving growth and maximising revenue across all business lines in a sophisticated data-driven manner.
* The Head of Commercial Finance will be an integral part of all M&A activity.
Reporting to the CFO, key responsibilities:
* Lead the Commercial function to deliver and drive value across all client contracts.
* Manage some high-profile commercial contracts, providing support and challenge across these contracts as required.
* Implement contract performance reporting to ensure that all commercial obligations are met.
* Drive margin and profitability, track and report on KPI’s in line with contract responsibilities, reforecasting business performance where necessary.
* Provide support on both bids and pricing activity.
* Work with key stakeholders to prepare and review budgets and deliver rolling forecasts.
* Provide accurate cash flow reporting.
* Establish and build effective working relationships with clients.
* Partner with the CFO and CEO on all M&A activity.
Your profile:
* A qualified Accountant with a commercially orientated mindset. You must be able to demonstrate strong finance business partnering experience from a commercial contracts based environment. It would be ideal if at least some of that experience has been gained in a PE / PE backed environment.
* Exposure to M&A activity from due diligence through to integration. It would be beneficial if some of your M&A experience had been gained from a background in Transaction Services (TS).
* Superb stakeholder management skills, a relationship builder, able to negotiate effectively and communicate with credibility.
* Able to demonstrate a strong financial planning and analysis skill set – budgeting, forecasting etc.
* Hungry, ambitious and driven. Self-motivated.
The role is Hybrid, with travel in the Midlands.
