PLC Engineer
Location: West Midlands (UK & International Travel)
Salary: Experience Dependant + Company Van
Our client is a market leader in the integration of automated solutions into industries such as FMCG, Automotive, and Marine. They are seeking a Systems Engineer who will be responsible for on-site service and commissioning of complete Electrical Control Systems including PLCs, AC/DC drive, general control gear, and SCADA systems.
Key Responsibilities – PLC Engineer
1. Reactive site support on customer automation control applications to include PLC, VSDs, Robots network, and SCADA systems
2. 24/7 reactive callout support (rostered cover)
3. Methodical problem-solving approach
4. Workshop testing of engineered automation Control Systems
5. Investigation and Repair of components to include PLC, VSDs, Robots network, and SCADA systems
6. To be capable of reading electrical schematic diagrams and PLC software listings
7. To be capable of keeping accurate and up to date site logs and timesheets
8. Accurate marking-up of project schematics and documentation
9. Assist with the development and delivery of bespoke training courses to meet the customer’s requirements
10. Support and train colleagues where possible
11. Assist other engineers with on-site commissioning and service of engineered automation Control Systems
12. Assist sales with technical support, site audits, and quotations
Qualifications & Experience – PLC Engineer
1. Variable speed drives experience for Siemens, ABB, Danfoss, Rockwell, CT, and Servo drives
2. PLC experience for Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron products, and software
3. Robot experience would be advantageous
4. To be able to communicate with customers, other contractors, and other commissioning engineers with regard to problems, progress, and targets
5. To be capable of communicating with other on-site personnel
