About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and empathetic Visiting Mum Family Engagement Manager to join our team. This role focuses on supporting
Welsh mums in custody at HMP Styal, helping them maintain meaningful relationships with their children and families. You will work
collaboratively with our Visiting Mum community worker and other stakeholders to deliver a service that prioritizes family
connection and holistic support.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide a welcoming, respectful, and supportive environment for service users accessing the Visiting Mum service, ensuring
dignity and human connection at every step.
2. Support Welsh mothers in custody by facilitating visits with their children and maintaining family relationships during their
time in prison.
3. Conduct triage for new arrivals to assess their needs and engage them with the service.
4. Develop and deliver family-focused services, programmes, and workshops within the prison setting, as well as in the
community.
5. Ensure that prisoners, their children, carers, and relatives have access to tailored advice, guidance, and learning
opportunities to foster positive family connections.
6. Work closely with the Visiting Mum community worker to deliver a seamless and collaborative service for both custodial and
community support.
7. Develop referral pathways for families, prisoners, and professionals, and build links to other relevant services.
8. Conduct detailed assessments of prisoners and their families to inform further interventions, including referrals to
additional support services.
9. Monitor and report on project KPIs, providing monthly updates to ensure accountability and project effectiveness.

About You:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* Experience in family support, social work, or similar fields.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate approach to service delivery.
* Knowledge of the challenges faced by mothers in custody and their families, particularly those in the Welsh community.
* The ability to manage multiple responsibilities, including service delivery, reporting, and collaboration.
* A commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality.
* A full driving license and willingness to travel (desirable but not essential).
