Backend Developer (Java, SpringBoot, AWS)

Description
We are looking for a talented Backend Developer to join our team and build robust, scalable backend systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot, with experience in AWS and PostgreSQL. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining APIs, microservices, and databases, ensuring high performance and security.
* Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
* Build and optimise PostgreSQL databases for efficient data storage and retrieval.
* Deploy and manage applications on AWS cloud infrastructure.
* Implement authentication, authorisation, and security best practices.
* Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure seamless integration.
* Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices.
* Troubleshoot and debug issues to improve system performance.
* Stay up to date with emerging backend technologies and trends.
The Individual
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable values and ethics that mirror our own culture values and to be successful in the recruitment process you will need to evidence at least 4 years’ experience of the following in your CV:
* Proven experience as a Backend Developer or similar role.
* Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
* Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or other SQL databases.
* Familiarity with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS).
* Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
* Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
* Experience with containerisation tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
* Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
* Knowledge of serverless architecture on AWS.
* Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
