We are recruiting for a Lead Operations Manager working on our Surrey contract. This role will involve leading the Operations and Maintenance teams to manage and maintain the structural integrity, safety and levels of service across the Project Network.
As the Lead Operations Manager, you will:
Health, Safety, and Environment:
* Champion operational health, safety, and environmental excellence, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
* Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including CDM regulations.
* Act as the Principal Contractor for all maintenance activities, collaborating with the HSE Team to promote safe construction and maintenance practices.
Strategic Planning:
* Develop and refine plans and strategies to enhance highway maintenance services across Surrey.
* Align operational strategies with the long-term objectives of Ringway and Surrey County Council (SCC).
Stakeholder Engagement:
* Represent the Highway Service at meetings with SCC, local businesses, neighboring authorities, and public inquiries.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
Performance Management:
* Manage operations to achieve contract performance targets.
* Deliver on business plan objectives and support the Service Director in meeting operational goals.
Customer Focus:
* Provide a responsive, customer-centric maintenance and operations service.
* Strive for high levels of customer satisfaction through efficient and effective service delivery.
Person Specification
* Previous experience working in a similar role i.e. Operations Manager, Director etc.
* Good working knowledge of highway asset management systems.
* Understanding of whole life costing approach.
* Good understanding of sustainability and carbon impacts of highway service.
* Competence in writing procedures and setting up systems which reflect and promote the best practices of customer care, quality, value for money, continuous improvement, and equality of opportunity in service delivery.
* Knowledge of statutory obligations affecting the service.
* Member of appropriate professional body would be desirable.
