Role Overview
Our client is seeking a Senior Clinical Negligence Solicitor (Grade A/B) to join their Liverpool team. In this role, you will manage and progress clinical negligence cases with a high degree of autonomy and expertise. You will handle cases from inception to resolution, ensuring proactive and commercially focused case management. You will regularly liaise with clients, medical experts, and other stakeholders, providing clear guidance and maintaining strong relationships. Your leadership and experience will be crucial in delivering successful outcomes and supporting the team’s growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage a caseload of clinical negligence matters from start to finish with a commercial and proactive approach.
2. Provide support, guidance, and mentorship to junior team members.
3. Collaborate with the Team Leader to discuss case strategies, planning, and team performance.
4. Draft legal documentation, including Letters of Claim (LOC) and letters of instruction.
5. Negotiate settlements and issue proceedings as required.
6. Ensure effective time recording and the collection of relevant information to progress cases.
7. Oversee and review documentation and correspondence produced by the team.
8. Maintain excellent client care and uphold the firm’s commitment to excellence in clinical negligence law.
Essential Skills and Experience
1. A minimum of 8 years PQE or equivalent experience in Clinical Negligence.
2. Proven experience in handling a clinical negligence caseload.
3. Strong organisational and time management skills.
4. Excellent communication, drafting, and IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, Proclaim, and Excel.
5. High attention to detail and strong commercial awareness within a legal context.
6. Ability to mentor and coach junior team members effectively.
7. Commitment to achieving results and meeting deadlines.
8. Exceptional client care skills.
