No. of Hours: 16 hours per week
Period of Employment: Fixed Term Contract until 31 March 2024, with the possibility of an extension
Job Purpose:
It is important that the postholder is able to exercise initiative, work conscientiously, and respect the confidentiality of information relating to clients and staff. A sympathetic, calm, and efficient manner is required when dealing with clients. The Team Assistant must deal confidently with professional colleagues from Education, Health, Social Care, and the voluntary and community sector.
* To support adults with autism and their parents/carers.
* To facilitate and develop links to statutory and voluntary agencies for the benefit of young people 16 plus and adults with care needs.
* To play a crucial role in supporting and enhancing transition services for autistic individuals.
* Collaborating with schools and families to create a tailored transition plan that addresses the unique needs of the individual.
* To support the delivery of the autism hub.
* Delivering community-based support services at a local level.
* To work alongside the team of volunteers.
* To provide office support to ensure a seamless first point of contact.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* To provide office support and administration needs for the project.
* To assist with the processing of supporting documentation.
* Update the Telford autism database with relevant information.
* Assist with booking support appointments with partners supporting the autism hub.
* Collate data and provide case studies.
* Website maintenance.
* Leaflet design.
* To provide information, advice, signposting, and guidance via the telephone.
* To support the delivery of the autism hub which includes social events, community-based activity, and workshops.
* Planning and facilitating social events.
It is expected that the Team Assistant will carry out other reasonable duties from time to time as appropriate.
Qualifications / Experience:
Evidence of a solid general education is required together with GCSE A*-C / 9-4 or equivalent including English and Mathematics along with good keyboard skills and the ability to use Microsoft Office applications, i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer, and an understanding or knowledge of Access. Evidence of further education or training that would support your application.
Experience of working in a small team in a busy office environment would be an advantage. Support, supervision, and training, where necessary, will be provided.
Hours of Work: Normal office hours are Monday to Friday 9.00 am – 5.00 pm. “Out of Hours” work and a flexible working pattern will be necessary. Time off in lieu can be arranged (overtime is not paid).
Place of Work:
Suite 12 & 15, Hazledine House, Central Square, Telford Centre, Telford, Shropshire, TF3 4JL.
You will be required to work at any of our premises from time to time, as well as out in the community.

The postholder may be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. Where the post holder will work in contact with vulnerable adults & children, Telford and Wrekin CVS is entitled to ask exempted questions under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 Exemptions Order 1975 and will require an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service before any appointment can be confirmed. Telford and Wrekin CVS complies completely with the DBS Code of Practice; a copy of the code is available on request. Any criminal record shown on a disclosure will not necessarily be a bar to employment, any matter revealed will be discussed with the applicant before any offer of employment is withdrawn. The post holder will be required to complete a questionnaire to assess any health and safety workplace needs through the Local Authority’s Occupational Health Service.
