Can you provide efficient administrative and organisational support to our museum leadership team? Would you be interested in working at one of Bradford's key visitor attractions?
About us
The National Science and Media Museum has now reopened following a temporary closure to undergo a once-in-a-generation transformation with huge changes through a £6 million capital project called 'Sound and Vision', including two new permanent galleries (opening later in the year), a new passenger lift and improvements to the main entrance, thanks to support from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
To support the senior team at the museum, we are now looking for a Directorate Coordinator to join us on a full-time basis until March 2026.
About the role
As Directorate Coordinator, you will provide efficient administrative and organisational support to the Museum Director, Head of Operations and wider leadership team, alongside supporting the Museum Director's Executive Assistant in delivering a comprehensive and consistent administrative support service. You will balance administrative work (note-taking, managing diaries and email traffic) with practical on-site and in-person support including booking and setting up furniture for meeting rooms and other spaces for internal meetings/events e.g. workshops and awaydays, organising and serving hospitality for Directorate meetings and events, and acting as one of the primary points of contact for the Museum Director, welcoming visitors (including VIP guests) into the Museum and escorting them to various spaces within the Museum, ensuring their needs are catered for.
About you
You will bring a flexible and proactive approach to work, with an ability to work well with people across all levels of the organisation as well as external stakeholders. You will be organised and conscientious with good IT skills, and an interest in learning new skills, systems and processes.
