Job Summary
MSEFT has a large capital infrastructure redevelopment programme, including leading for the integrated care system (MSE ICS) on an ambitious community diagnostic centre programme, and a large backlog maintenance burden.
Alongside these priorities, the postholder will also support new commercial capital activities, providing expert advice to ensure we take full advantage of commercial capital and business development opportunities, within a framework of sound corporate governance, contract and commercial law. Therefore, building a highly performing estates and capital team will be key to success.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will lead the Estates and Facilities team which delivers services from several South and Mid Essex sites. This role is an important post in delivering the Trust's Estates and Facilities services across all sites in the Group. There are several key strategic opportunities and challenges this role will tackle in the next 12 to 18 months regarding how the Trust delivers quality services.
The future working arrangements with healthcare partners across the Mid and South Essex area provide a positive opportunity to further develop and enhance the service and this will enable the healthcare estate to meet the needs of the local population. We have a significant capital investment for the necessary acute reconfiguration and significant progress has already been made to secure additional funding and partner engagement to achieve our ambitions in line with agreed estate principles and objectives.
You will provide leadership and strategic input for the management of the Trust's estates, facilities and capital investment programme and will lead on the development of the Trust's transformation plan of its overall estates footprint and advance solutions which enable the cost-effective delivery of health services.
