Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)

Salary: £83.33 - £90.00 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: After February 2025 Half Term
Contract Type: Full-Time

GSL Education are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a nurturing school in Lincoln, where you will make a meaningful impact on students with additional learning needs.
As an SEN TA, you will collaborate with the SENCO and class teacher to provide personalised support, ensuring every child feels valued, understood, and empowered to thrive. Your role will foster confidence, engagement, and academic progress, requiring patience, adaptability, and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities of the SEN TA:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with special educational needs.
* Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and learning strategies.
* Support students in developing social and communication skills.
* Work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to create an inclusive learning environment.
* Help manage behaviour effectively using positive reinforcement techniques.
* Encourage independence and confidence in students.
* Assist with personal care needs, where necessary.
Requirements of the SEN TA:
* Experience working with SEN students is desirable but not essential.
* A patient, caring, and empathetic approach to working with children.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to adapt to different learning needs and support children in a nurturing way.
* A proactive and team-orientated mindset.
* Experience in education, care, or support work is beneficial.
* Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Updated Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
* Work in a supportive and inclusive school environment.
