Job Description
We are looking for people with kind, compassionate hearts who want to make a true difference to the quality of life for our clients to join our team in West Leicestershire as a Live In Care Professional.
As a Live-In Care Professional, you will live in a client's home and provide a variety of non-medical services to help them keep independent in their own home.
Some of the main duties will include:
1. Personal care - continence support, washing and dressing
2. Medication
3. Meal preparation
4. Home help - cleaning and ensuring general up keep of house
5. Companionship - supporting with overall wellbeing
The following experience would be advantageous:
6. Alzheimer’s - agitation
7. Challenging behaviour
8. Dementia - movement, balance, coordination
9. Neurological conditions- balance, movement, vision, speech, swallowing
10. Moving and handling experience- hoists
11. Able to drive a mobility car
12. Driver
Care pro's will have their own bedroom within the client's property.
The ideal schedule / working pattern will be two weeks on and two weeks off.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
13. Experience of working in Care
14. Ability to treat and care for clients and their property with dignity and respect
15. Ability to adapt to various living environments and locations
16. Ability to listen, communicate clearly and build relationships with clients and their families in a friendly and pleasant manner
17. Willingness to work and communicate professionally with Home Instead office teams and other social and health care professionals
18. Respect for people suffering from a range of medical conditions with different backgrounds and beliefs to your own. Commitment to non-discriminatory care practice
19. Willing to seek guidance when needed and follow instructions
20. Excellent time keeper who is organised and reliable
21. Ability to adapt to change quickly and make common sense decisions at short notice
22. Good hygiene practice, including personal hygiene and a smart appearance
23. This role will require you to obtain an Enhanced Disclosure from the relevant body
24. Class 1 business insurance (if using own car for business purposes)
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
25. Being a driver is not essential but would be beneficial
All training and support is provided. Some experience of care would be a benefit.
Experience of working with those with dementia would be an advantage.

As a Live In Care Professional, you will be provided with an allowance for food, a separate room to stay and access to a TV and WiFi.
