Essential Functions
* Privacy Governance Framework: Build and sustain a global privacy framework, communication, liaison, and overview of privacy and adjacent regulations. The majority of PIERS interactions are direct-to-patient (dtp), however the registry business includes site and dtp registries, instrument licensing, and study services.
* Privacy and adjacency regulations include: GDPR, HITRUST, FEDRAMP, APPI, PIPEDA, APPs, and PIPL.
* Cross-Functional Liaison: Lead PIERS cross-functional privacy governance and compliance activities with partners in Global Privacy Office, Regional/Country-specific Data Privacy Officers, Information Governance, and Privacy Analytics to support project teams and technology solutions.
* Innovator: Drive collaboration with stakeholders to develop and perform high-quality core processes, define requirements, and provide insights to optimize processes and systems.
* Vendor Oversight: Manage third-party suppliers performing Practice privacy processes.
* Competency Definition: Research and present recommendations on essential privacy competencies to drive practice compliance while supporting growth.
* Product-Market Fit: Regularly evaluate evolving regulatory and market changes and recommend modifications to ensure compliance.
* Product Strategy: Translate privacy requirements into product-level requirements and partner with teams to ensure compliance interpretation is executed.
* Solution Consulting Guidance: Support customer consulting projects with privacy advice and thresholds.
* Sales Enablement: Inform sales engineering needs and incorporate privacy feedback into strategy.
* Client Partner: Review and approve Data Privacy Agreements; ensure compliance infrastructure is in place.
* Thought Leadership: Develop and evangelize patient privacy expertise; participate in industry conferences and author white papers.
Experience
* A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
* Experience with global privacy regulations, particularly GDPR and US HITRUST; experience with HIPAA, APPI, PIPEDA, APPs, or PIPL is a plus.
Knowledge
* Experienced-to-Expert in privacy and technology security.
* Experienced-to-Expert in key segment concepts.
* Experienced-to-Expert in multi-system data processing techniques.
* Experienced-to-Expert with global healthcare data privacy standards.
* Experienced in organizational and product strategy methodologies.
* Experienced with data privacy legislation as a Data Controller and Processor.
* Experienced with individual data privacy communication requirements.
* Familiar with real-world observational research paradigms.
* BA, BS, or regional equivalent.
* Strategic planning and autonomous decision-making.
* Technical or persuasive writing skills.
