Main duties of the job
To undertake a full range of duties working in support of, and supervised by a registered general nurse, including setting up and working in procedure rooms, preparation, handling of equipment, stock replacement, and other general duties working in recovery and admission and discharge of patients, ensuring optimal care delivery within endoscopy services to the North Tees and Hartlepool Trust.
Our aim is to ensure each and every patient receives the highest quality, evidence-based care in a clean and safe environment. In order to do so, the post holder must complete and be signed off the local competency packs within a specified period.

Job responsibilities
As part of the endoscopy team, the successful candidate will work in all areas of the unit; cross-site working is required. Duties will include admission, recovery, and discharge of patients, room and equipment preparation, working in the procedure room, general day-to-day duties, patient transport, and liaising with other departments.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* NVQ 2 in Healthcare or equivalent qualification. Literacy and Numeracy Grade C or above.
* NVQ 3 in Healthcare or equivalent qualification. Previous experience in healthcare setting.
Experience
* Previous experience in healthcare setting.
* Previous experience as a HCA in an endoscopy environment.
Skills and aptitudes
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work on own initiative.
* Team player.
* Experience of dealing with members of the public.
Disposition
* Flexibility - able to cope with different work environments.
* Ability to work under pressure/meet tight deadlines whilst delivering high quality work.
