Purpose of Role Please note this is a Volunteer Role This role is to support delivery of our Men’s Group Project to men over 17 who may struggle with isolation, and/or experience mental health issues. Our men’s group is a peer-led support group aimed at providing a warm and safe space for men to discuss topic-based subjects around mental health and wellbeing, share experiences, reduce isolation, and create new friendships Structure of the Role Volunteers are supported by the Groups lead Peer Wellbeing Coach and responsible to the Service Development Manager. They must be flexible to work in several venues throughout the area as required, including digital work. Travel expenses can be claimed in line with our policies and procedures. Time and hours will be negotiated at the point of accepting a volunteer role. We ask for minimum commitment of 3 hours a week for 6 months. Maintains good liaison with any other outside agencies as is necessary Promotes good joint working, links, and cross-referral with all North Kent Mind colleagues. Adheres to the principles of the Social Care Standards as defined by the GCSI To participate in supervision sessions. To attend training. Duties of the Role: Common To maintain communication with team colleagues. Support the team to embed all Live Well Kent and North Kent Mind outcomes and methodology into the service. Support the efficient facilitation of outcome monitoring systems and inputting of outcome data. Duties of the Role: Specific to chosen volunteer role/roles Men’s Groups Volunteer To help run groups to provide a warm and safe space for men to discuss topic-based subjects around mental health and wellbeing, share experiences, reduce isolation, and create new friendships. Support staff to ensure a register of participants is kept and all monitoring data is completed. Providing support to service users involved with the group. Support the collection of feedback from participants to improve performance. Support with setting up and packing away venue after group.
