The Role- Procurement Manager - Interim - Initially 6 month Contract
The Procurement Manager will be responsible for overseeing the procurement activities and providing day to day support to the team. This role involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating purchase orders, and ensuring that materials, goods, and services are acquired on time, within budget, and meet the company’s quality standards. The Procurement Manager will play a critical role in optimizing supply chain efficiency, reducing costs, and supporting production schedules, all while maintaining compliance with corporate and regulatory policies. Additionally, this individual will lead a team of procurement professionals, collaborate with internal stakeholders across departments, and drive continuous improvements in procurement processes to enhance the company’s competitive advantage.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Establish and implement process to develop business-partner relationship with internal stakeholders
* Develop Supplier Relationship Management processes to proactively reduce risk in the areas of quality, delivery and cost in alignment with the sourcing strategy.
* Identify improvements to reduce errors, by understanding root cause and taking corrective action.
* Use and development of lean tools to identify and implement opportunities to reduce or eliminate waste.
* Assess systems and processes to improve with the goal being “right quality”
* Lead Supplier Business Reviews.
* Support the team in the development of domestic and international supplier development
* Support the initiatives to identify and pursue RM cost savings year over year which meet organization KPI targets.
* Budget development and spend control, contribute to budget setting process and control costs within Purchasing to meet monthly and annual budget +/-2%
* Develop OTIF KPI (reporting, containment, countermeasures) ensuring RMs are in right place at the right time.
* Collaborate with suppliers in support of Team members and to reach goal for waste reduction and cost savings through T.C.O.
* Co-lead the development of FMDS boards and content. Manage timely update and report out. Use 8 Step Problem solving and organizational tools to develop Main, Sub, and Process KPIs. Lead team in containment and countermeasure development and implementation.
* Support team goal for improvements.
* Co-lead the development of supplier selection process, evaluation and on-boarding of suppliers. Responsible for a monthly report out via Supplier report card.
* Promote transparency in all dealings with internal and external customers.
* Best practice developed (standard work) and followed.
* Prevent out-of-stock situations (WFMs) while managing $ inventory invested to the KPI and inventory turns
* Assess, develop, cross-train and retain employees / succession planning.
Education, Skills, Minimum requirements
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business administration, supply chain, or related field
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in direct procurement and supply-chain in a manufacturing environment. Minimum of 2 years of previous supervisory experience or progressive growth.
* High proficiency in Microsoft Office and collaboration tools.
* Strong negotiation, communication, problem solving, and leadership skills.
* Ability to effectively manage conflict.
* Ability to inspire, lead and performance manage a team.
* Proficiency with procurement software and ERP systems preferred.
* Ability to analyse data and make strategic decisions.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively
* Driving license/car
* Hybrid working pattern 3 days in office and 2 days WFH
