Job Summary
Are you a motivated person who has experiences to bring to Outpatients? Do you have a pro-active, forward thinking attitude towards providing an outstanding service for our patients? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a healthcare assistant to join our outpatient team. The outpatient department is based across a number of general and specialty clinics. The post holder will develop their skills to support the team to provide an efficient service that delivers first class service to our patients and staff.
Main Duties of the Job
You must have basic literacy and numeracy skills and want to develop your knowledge and skills. You will be a motivated team player and be committed to your own professional development. There is a requirement for you to be flexible to meet the needs of the clinics. In return, we will support you to develop in the role. Working alongside the outpatient team your role would be to support the team in setting and maintaining person-centered high quality care and ensuring that patient safety and the patient experience are paramount.

Person Specification
Essential
* Maths and English skills equivalent to Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy
* Completion of Care Certificate or equivalent experience
* Completion of short courses to undertake patient and clinical care duties, completion of a competency-based workbook or equivalent relevant experience to vocational qualification level 3
Experience and Knowledge
* Committed to providing high quality patient care
* Understands the needs of patients in an acute setting
* Experience of working as a Healthcare Assistant
* Experience of caring for patients in an acute setting
* Ability and willingness to undertake delegated clinical duties
* Ability to act as an advocate for patients
* Understands the importance of professional behaviour at all times
* Understands own role in delivery of care to meet patient's needs, including personal accountability and role boundaries
* Understands the importance of following instructions and written procedures
* Experience of working within a team
Key Skills
* Ability to communicate clearly in English in writing, via IT, verbally and using the telephone
