Salary: up to £45,000 depending on experience
Hybrid working: 2-3 days/week onsite in Wotton-under-Edge
Renishaw design and manufacture high quality metrology instrumentation and control systems. Due to current demand, we are continuing to develop innovative products requiring further support and maintenance of all aspects of design including Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design and development.
The PCB Design role is to work within a busy, vibrant PCB design environment, creating new and maintaining existing PCB designs and assemblies using the current Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools, and operating with Renishaw PCB processes to support our in-house manufacturing. The role will include the creation of complete PCB design packages including the design data, fabrication, and assembly drawings and all supporting design files. There will be a need to review manufacturing requests and liaise with both external and in-house manufacturing to resolve related issues.
The main role of the PCB designer will be to develop PCB designs which will include creating and checking associated design documentation and working with others in the PCB design team to support this. The role will require regular contact with electronic designers and production engineers and will also require that the library data and processes be reviewed and maintained to ensure a high quality of design integrity. It is anticipated that the PCB designer is capable of timely and swift design creation and maintenance as many of the designs are used within a dynamic environment for both prototype and production products.
The position offers an opportunity to develop PCB designs to suit a variety of products which includes both rigid and flexi board designs, multiple layer count, high performance and both analogue and digital designs within a research and development environment. Working with defined best practice procedures and maintaining an understanding of the latest technology, the PCB designer will be required to work closely with other engineers to develop the world’s leading products for metrology.
