Job Opportunity: Team Leader - Chemical Manufacturing

Salary: £36,000 per annum + Overtime & Bonuses

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading chemical manufacturing company, for an experienced Team Leader to join their dynamic team based in Doncaster. This is an excellent opportunity to step into a leadership role where you will drive performance, safety, and operational efficiency across the production shift.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and motivate the shift team to ensure high performance, safety, and morale.
Act as the primary point of contact for your team, other Team Leaders, and management, including detailed handovers between shifts.
Ensure adherence to the weekly production plan and achieve all production targets, including product quality and efficiency.
Work closely with the Logistics team to manage packaging and raw materials, ensuring production demand is met.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the team and production processes.
Foster a high-performance culture, identifying and addressing any team challenges and resolving issues effectively.
Conduct training needs assessments and provide coaching and development for team members.
Oversee Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards, ensuring compliance at all times.
Ensure raw materials are properly received, checked, offloaded, and stored correctly.
Manage finished product packaging to meet customer specifications and ensure correct loading for transport.
Assist with maintenance tasks and equipment troubleshooting as required.
Conduct Return to Work interviews and support incident investigations when needed.
Ensure effective communication within the team and address any feedback or concerns.
Manage weekly consumable stock levels and ensure operational efficiency.
Participate in meetings and contribute to procedural reviews and improvements.
Skills & Experience Required:
Proven experience operating chemical plant equipment, with knowledge of chemical reactions and blending processes.
Strong commitment to safety and the well-being of yourself and others.
Demonstrated leadership ability with experience in managing and motivating teams.
Attention to detail with the ability to work to high operational standards.
Ability to coach, train, and develop team members to improve performance and skills.
Highly numerate with strong problem-solving and data analysis skills.
Strong organizational skills and self-motivation.
Basic laboratory experience, including pH and viscosity testing.
Forklift truck certification is essential or the willingness to obtain one.
