Main Purpose of Job
We currently have an opportunity for a Warehouse Operative - Vaults to join our team and be a part of our continued success.
As a Warehouse Operative - Vaults (known internally as a Vault Officer) you will be at the very heart of our operation. Your primary responsibility will be all aspects of security and operations of the vaults including security and traceability of cash containers (including notes and coins) entering, within and leaving the vault department.
You will also need to work within the company's procedural guidelines to ensure a high quality of service is consistently maintained with optimum efficiency. Due to the nature of the industry in which we operate, you will need to be confident working to stringent procedures within a highly regulated environment. This will ensure that our service remains superior and that our customer’s requirements are met with optimum efficiency.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
The Role
1. Operate in a receipt and dispatch function dealing with internal and/or external customers, including responsibility for ensuring accurate and secure loading/unloading of CIT, ATM and Trunker vehicles.
2. Carry out daily Vault Audits, identifying and investigating discrepancies and reporting to management as necessary.
3. Be aware of health and safety issues and ensure all staff can work safely.
4. Control exit and entry of vehicles to loading bay(s) and branch where applicable.
5. Must always adhere to Operational Standing Orders.
6. Complete all necessary paperwork and ensure records are retained and stored correctly.
7. Carry out any other duties that are deemed reasonable.
8. Liaise with other departments, branches, customers and suppliers, as appropriate, to resolve issues and maintain service.
9. Follow company procedures to ensure the security of cash, valuables, staff and premises is maintained at all times.
10. Ensure 5S standards are consistently reviewed and adhered to.
11. Responsible for opening and closing of the vaults both routinely and in an emergency using appropriate security measures.
12. Using a computerised system (Viper) to ensure an audit trail for all cash/containers is maintained at all times.
13. Prepare consignments of customer funds for dispatch to vehicles.
14. This job description will be subject to change in accordance with operational developments and the job holder’s expertise.
15. Full and proper use of mechanical handling equipment.
16. Undertake training activities as required.
17. Issue, receive and maintain security of all keys held within the secure area.
18. Monitor branch and vehicle holdings to ensure they are within insurance indemnities, reporting any potential breaches.
19. You’ll also need to have a flexible approach to working hours (including weekends and bank holidays), being happy to adapt plans to meet changing circumstances.
20. Undertake other duties that may reasonably be assigned to you by your line manager or the business.
Pay starts at £14.24 per hour, rising to £14.54 after 6 months, rising to £14.84 after 12 months (plus a night allowance if applicable). Please note this is a Part-Time role.
Person Specification

1. Firstly, you will need to be confident in communicating at all levels in both written and spoken English.
2. You will need to be confident in following specific procedures and instructions.
3. An appropriate level of numeracy is also very important.
4. You must also be able to work to tight deadlines.
5. Previous experience using IT and computer systems would be extremely beneficial.
6. Must be comfortable working within a secure, confined and highly regulated environment.
7. You must also be willing to undertake shift work.
8. You will need to be able to work as part of a team.
9. Finally, you must be continuously focused on providing a top-notch service to our customers by being efficient, flexible and at all times security conscious.

Security Criteria
* You must be able to pass a criminal record check as well as a personal credit and ID check.
* You’ll need to provide 10-year employment/unemployment/educational history that we can check and verify.
* You will need to be prepared to undergo airport style searches when entering and leaving our premises and be comfortable working within a secure warehouse environment.
* An SIA licence would be beneficial.
This role will be subject to a medical review, which may include a medical assessment with an occupational health practitioner. We will provide all the training and support to help you to progress as a key member of our world-class team.
