HR Officer- Stonehaven > Maternity Cover
This client is based South of Aberdeen and is looking to bring in an HR Officer on a 9–12 month temporary basis to cover maternity leave. This role can be part- or full-time hours c37 hours per week (08.30 – 16.30/Friday 08.30 – 15.30).
The Role
The HR Officer will be responsible for providing HR activity and support to the Business Manager and wider team, as well as a range of office-based activities. In addition, they will be responsible for the management of information, record-keeping, and document control relating to HR, Logistics, and Training. They will ensure that personnel are competent and safe to work in line with company and industry procedures.
Responsibilities
Human Resources
* Managing internal HR processes, including disciplinary, exit interviews, redundancies, and others as required.
* Recruitment – advertising, correspondence with applicants and agencies, arranging interviews and appointment documentation.
* Recruitment of overseas workers – Applications for work permits, visas as required.
* Provide advice and support to management and employees on HR issues.
* Maintain Contracts of Employment.
* Research, monitor, and evaluate company policies to ensure they are being applied consistently and in accordance with current employment legislation.
* Manage and monitor absence management program.
* Manage and monitor Company appraisals.
* Scanning/filing, printing, and collating of documents.
Logistics
* General support to the Logistics Assistant.
* Responsible for ensuring necessary documentation and training to work offshore are in place - Permit to Work, Offshore Survival’s, OGUK Medicals, etc.
* Ensure that the personnel movement of all starters, movers, and leavers is passed on in a timely manner to management and relevant Recruitment Agencies as required, especially during critical periods of up manning and down manning of off-site work scopes/projects.
Training and Development
* Book internal and external training courses for delegates in line with requirements set out in competency matrices and on-the-job requirements, in line with company policies and procedures.
* Ensure that delegates have the appropriate joining instructions prior to attending the training.
* Coordinate related logistics and arrange accommodation as required for delegates.
* Update internal training databases/systems with the planned training events and certification details.
* Ensure that required refresher training courses are planned and take place in good time.
* Liaise with external providers or clients regarding organisational requirements and ensure service levels are adhered to.
* Ensure that feedback is sought after the training event from the delegates to assess and analyse the impact of the learning or training event.
* Provide health and safety advice to employees working away from home – offshore or abroad.
* Carry out inductions for new employees.
* Health surveillance – recording and monitoring.
Information Systems
* Management of SAGE HR Database and manual records in accordance with Data Protection legislation.
* Ensure client requirements are met.
Requirements
* General understanding of HR processes and in particular employment law.
* Strong HR experience.
* HR qualification desired.
* Happy to support the logistics team.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Good organisation and administration skills.
* High level of computer literacy.
* Good attention to detail/produces accurate work.
Salary
* Circa £15-20 per hour.
