We are seeking a M&A Financial Analyst to support the M&A team in identifying, evaluating and executing a wide range of tasks linked to buy-side, sell-side and strategic investment opportunities. The successful candidate will play a key role in conducting financial modelling, valuation analysis, due diligence, and strategic assessments to drive business growth through M&A activity. This role requires a good understanding of corporate finance principles, investment strategies, deal structuring and attention to detail.
Key responsibilities:
Deal activity
* Conduct comprehensive financial modelling, valuation, and sensitivity analysis for potential M&A opportunities
* Assist in preparing presentations for senior management, where appropriate, providing well-supported financial insights and strategic recommendations
* Support the due diligence process, primarily in financial aspects, including analysing data in data rooms and preparing a report on financial health of target
* Analyse financial statements, historical performance, and business metrics to assess potential acquisitions and provide recommendations on risks, accounting anomalies and impact on deal structure
* Support Head of Deal Advisory with other aspects of the transaction, including liaising with other workstreams (e.g. HR, Operations, IT) and managing risk
* Assist in post-acquisition integration planning, including the development of synergy realisation plans, integration roadmaps, and performance tracking frameworks. Work closely with M&A Integration Manager
Market trends and analysis
* Perform in-depth industry research, market analysis, and competitive benchmarking to support strategic decision-making and identify acquisition targets
* Develop and maintain M&A transaction databases, tracking deal flow, market trends, acquisition targets, and deal outcomes to provide data-driven insights
* Monitor industry trends, economic conditions, and regulatory changes to identify acquisition targets and strategic opportunities for Group
What we are looking for:
* Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
* Strong understanding of financial modelling, valuation techniques and accounting principles
* Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Knowledge of other financial analysis tools
* Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to process and analyse large volumes of financial and industry data
* Attention to detail
* Ability to work to deadlines, managing multiple priorities
* Strong organisational and project management skills
* Ability to deliver exceptionally strong output even under time-pressure
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively to senior stakeholders
* Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive successful outcomes in high-pressure deal environments
* Interest in M&A activity, desire to get involved in all aspects of deal activity.
