Main duties of the job
What you'll be responsible for:
* Monitoring patients' conditions by taking temperatures, pulse, respirations, and weight.
* Assisting in the delivery of patient care as directed by the Registered Nurse
* Ensuring that the patient is the prime focus when making decisions about their care and wellbeing.
* Assisting patients with compassion when undertaking normal activities of daily living whilst ensuring that privacy, dignity, and human rights are respected.
* The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above

Trust also covers areas in Exeter, Torquay,Ivybridge, Barnstaple. Main hospitals are exeter and Torquay.
Shift Patterns:7:30am to 3:30pm, 7:30am to 12:30pm, 9am to 5pm, 12:30pm to 8:30pm, 3:30pm to 8:30pm, 8pm to 8am

The role will involve, but not be limited to youperforming the above.
What youll need:
* A minimum of 6 months experience as a Mental Health Care Assistant(Qualifications required to accompany individuals with 6-12 months experience)
or
* Studying as a Student Nursewith at least 12 weeks clinical placements, studying towards a Mental HealthNursing degree
*Depending on the Trust, you may require variableadditional certification and skills.

Person Specification
Experience
* A minimum of 6 months experience as a Mental Health Care Assistant (Qualifications required to accompany individuals with 6-12 months experience)
Qualifications
* All Care support worker roles will be required to provide evidence of completing the Care Certificate or a relevant qualification. Evidence accepted includes:
* Student Nurse with at least 12 weeks clinical placements.
* Care Certificate from an NHS Organisation
* QCF Level 2 Diploma in Healthcare Support Services issued after 2011
* QCF Level 2 OR above Diploma in Health & Social Care or Clinical Healthcare Support issued after 2011
* QCF Level 3 OR above Diploma in Healthcare Support or Maternity & Paediatric Support issued after 2011 (For Paediatric & Maternity roles only)
* Degree /Diploma in Nursing and currently do not have an NMC Registration.
