The Opportunity
As our client continues to deliver exciting and significant highly regulated projects in the nuclear sector, they are eager to expand their dynamic team and are currently seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to deliver their mechanical expertise to key nuclear projects.
They provide the front end design and engineering capability across numerous portfolios. Being part of the team offers a unique opportunity to drive change and innovation in engineering, safety, and delivery solutions in one of the most complex industrial sites in the UK if not the world. They’re looking for people who are passionate about developing themselves and in meeting new challenges.
As a result of increasing demand for their services, there are significant opportunities for you to support a key project within the nuclear business.
Contract Estimated Duration: 12 months
This role has been deemed inside of IR35.
Your Duties and Responsibilities
1. Managing and directing designers in delivery of mechanical plant and equipment.
2. Prioritising work to support manufacturer schedules.
3. Working knowledge of plant layout, set up, installation and alignment of plant and equipment and machinery for works test, integrated test and site installation.
4. Writing and checking works test requirement documentation and Integrated works test documents for Plant, Equipment and machinery.
5. Interaction with CE&I engineers will be required to ensure complete multi-disciplinary interactions are addressed.
6. Writing and checking O&M manuals.
7. Experience in providing support to resolution of manufacturing, inspection and test Technical Queries/production permits/concessions.
You Will Have the Following Qualifications & Experience
1. MEng / BEng in Mechanical Engineering.
2. Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (Preferred).
3. You must be able to obtain BPSS Security clearance before your start date.
4. Experience in the use of Autodeskinventor.
5. Experience in the use of Autodesk Vault Basis or Vault Pro (file management).
6. Experience in production and checking of Design justification reports (DJRs).
7. Experience and working knowledge of safety cases.
8. Retrieval of information from DM desktop and other record management systems.
