About the Role and Program
Platform Distribution (PD) Operations provides operational and technical expertise, support, direction, strategic guidance and project management for all of Platform Distribution including theatrical, linear networks, AVOD/SVOD, transactional, syndication and direct-to-consumer products. PD Operations is focused on the design and implementation of business processes for efficient management and operation of all media distribution.
The team collaborates, influences and directs prioritization of work with many different internal partners across The Walt Disney Company such as Technology, Disney Streaming, Studio Operations, Broadcast Operations, ESPN, Disney Television Programming and Production, Disney Ad Sales, Marketing, Legal, Finance and others. The PD team also collaborates with external distribution partners, sports league partners, software and hardware vendors, content delivery service providers and consultants. The approximate dates of this internship are June through August 2025. If selected for this role, you will report to a Manager, Platform Distribution Operations.
What You Will Do
Providing pre-sale and sales support, post-sale execution, and partner management, this role will assist the Network Management team within Platform Distribution Operations with day-to-day business needs. The PD operations Intern will support multiple initiatives simultaneously that will drive process improvement for content distribution across various lines of business while contributing to a team environment that is inclusive and encourages communication and collaboration. Responsibilities include:
* Supporting data integrity initiatives to ensure accurate system records and reporting.
* Compiling and analyzing large volumes of data in Excel and validating against rights and product information in key systems.
* Supporting tasks and deliverables related to Technical Negotiations, Systems and Process Management, Data/Advertising integrations, Rights Management and Network Management and participating in user acceptance testing as needed.
* Assisting the team in the development of presentations, training materials, and reports.
* Creating and building relationships with counterparts across TWDC in sales, operations, production, digital media, legal, accounting, etc. and externally with distributors, business partners, vendors, and technology developers to aid in self-learning, support job functions, and to advance the goals of Platform Distribution.
* Developing relationships with business stakeholders and various technology and operations teams to identify, define and assist with projects to advance the overall business goals of Platform Distribution and inform technology roadmaps.
Required Qualifications and Skills
* Experience working in collaborative environments and managing multiple projects.
* Strong organization and presentation skills.
* High attention to detail and accountability, able to see tasks through to completion.
* Experience using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
* Previous experience (academic or internship) in media or entertainment.
Education
* Junior or Senior year preferred.
* Major or previous coursework in Business, Communications, Media or related major preferred.
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
* Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
* Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
* Be at least 18 years of age.
* Possess unrestricted work authorization.
Additional Information
* Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship.
* Fully available from June through August 2025 for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week.
* Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the Bristol, CT area.
* Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work.
