We are looking for a Growth and Development Partnerships Advisor to join our expanding Growth and Development Group. The Growth and Development Partnerships team is tasked with providing specialist growth and development advisory, project oversight and coordination of the public infrastructure and amenity of current residential and industrial growth areas, along with new growth and development areas arising out of the Future Development Strategy (FDS). This position is part of a newly established Growth and Development Unit that leads growth and development work across Council.
The Growth and Development Partnerships Advisor has accountability for ensuring the growth and development area(s) and bespoke projects are planned and delivered on time, on budget, and to expectation. You will work closely with specialists and professionals and be expected to adhere to sound project management methodologies, including proper scoping of the opportunity, adherence to Council procurement procedures, and a thorough/complete handover of the project outcome. You will also support and enable broader growth & development activities, strategies, and outcomes through the provision of specialist and bespoke advice.
A key expectation for the Growth and Development Partnerships Advisor will be to ensure Council maintains strong and productive relationships with key developers, development partners, and other entities to ensure homes/industry uptake is realized. The provision of land acquisition/land divestment strategies and development agreements that relate to development and growth are led and managed by this team.

To be successful in this role you will have:
* A tertiary qualification in Planning, Engineering, Property, Surveying, Development Studies, Project Management, Urban Design, or a related discipline.
* Significant experience in urban planning and development.
* The ability to translate plans and navigate challenges innovatively to realize well-functioning on-the-ground development outcomes.
* A strong understanding of the interface between planning, infrastructure, amenity, and development.
* The ability to successfully work with and across a range of stakeholders, including developers, engineers, mana whenua, advisors, planners, urban designers, project managers, and community members to achieve successful outcomes.
* The ability to successfully manage projects and programmes of work.
* Well-honed interpersonal skills and a sense of humour.
* Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
* Be a good communicator and team player, with a mature and co-operative manner.
* Be able to work under pressure.
