GSL Education is currently supporting an SEN school in Launceston, seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis, with the potential for permanent positions. This role is ideal for those passionate about making a positive impact on students with special educational needs.
The school provides a tailored educational experience for students with complex needs, often including one-to-one support and customised timetables. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be a critical part of the support system for students at risk of needing residential placements or returning from out-of-county care. The school supports students from Key Stages 1 to 4, and there are multiple SEN Teaching Assistant roles available.
Responsibilities:
1. Act as a learning mentor, providing individualised guidance and support to students.
2. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to create comprehensive support plans.
3. Foster a positive environment that enhances students' social skills and communication.
4. Support students with daily academic tasks and implement interventions that promote positive behaviour outcomes.
Requirements:
1. UK Driving Licence with Access to a Car
2. Willing to use your car for business purposes and maintain business insurance.
3. Available immediately for full-time, term-time work.
4. Strong communication skills to facilitate clear interactions.
5. Patience, empathy, flexibility, and adaptability to meet students' unique needs.
