Highly motivated individual required to join Bolsover District Council’s busy Revenues & Benefits Team.

We are looking to fill the post of Billing Officer (CTAX/NNDR). The successful candidate will undertake within a team environment, a range of duties relating to the efficient administration, billing and collection of the Council Tax and Non Domestic Rating functions of the Authority.
To be successful you will need:
1. knowledge of the Local Government Finance Act 1992,
2. knowledge of Council Tax Legislation and regulations,
3. knowledge of the Data Protection Act and Freedom of Information Act,
4. recent proven practical experience of working within an office environment, preferably in Revenues or similar,
5. proven practical experience of dealing with members of the public and other organisations,
6. computer literacy use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, Outlook,
7. good numeracy and literacy skills,
8. the ability to work within a team environment using own initiative and displaying a responsible and flexible attitude,
9. the ability to work effectively and efficiently to competing deadlines, displaying tact and discretion at all time,
10. to be self-motivated,
11. good communication skills to explain complex issues both verbally and in writing,
12. the ability to demonstrate strong customer focus and a commitment to service improvements,
13. own transport/current full driving licence to undertake home visits as required. Alternative arrangements may be agreed with applicants with a relevant disability.
