About the Role: SMT GB is on the lookout for a dynamic and visionary Head of Strategic Infrastructure (Construction Equipment) to lead our client and customer engagement on major projects in sectors such as energy, road & transportation and industrial applications. In this key leadership position, you will be responsible for formulating and executing strategies that align with our long-term goal to provide zero emission products and services into major infrastructure in GB. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure that our future technologies are fully understood, and that the infrastructure required to support eMobility is considered within the scope and design of new projects What You Will Be Doing: Lead and manage major GB projects of interest to SMT GB, ensuring effective communication and stakeholder engagement from CEO to senior management Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and internal teams, including Regional Business Directors and Service Delivery Managers Collaborate with the Financial Business Partner, Commercial Risk Manager, and Bid Manager to develop and respond to commercial tenders, identifying risks and ensuring proper approvals Oversee the full tender process, keeping stakeholders informed and following RACI principles Stay informed on client needs and major project requirements, providing feedback to Volvo and SMT Group to drive product and service development Attend industry networking events and engage with government agencies on net-zero and carbon reduction initiatives in major infrastructure projects Develop and implement strategies for successful tenders and gather feedback for continuous improvement when tenders are unsuccessful Monitor competitor activity, leveraging insights to inform SMT and Volvo on product and service development Requirements Knowledge, Skills, And Experience In order to set you up for success, we look for the following skills and experience: Proven ability to identify and commercialise aftermarket opportunities. Strong communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills. Excellent project, stakeholder, and remote work management. Self-motivated, proactive, and decisive. Experience turning opportunities into revenue and driving change. Knowledge of aftermarket products in the construction industry. Familiarity with Health and Safety practices and Microsoft tools. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel. Proven sales and customer service experience. Desirable: Knowledge of SMT GB products, construction machinery, and SMT/Volvo systems. Experience building relationships with dealers and customers. Understanding of SMT’s Values, Vision, and customer needs. Ability to represent SMT at events.
