Job Title: Field Engineer
Location: Lancaster, Tennessee
Reports To: Project Engineer
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary
The Field Engineer position will begin their assignment at the Center Hill Dam Spillway Gate Replacement Project and will assist with managing the fabrication and construction of the Dam Spillway Gates and Machinery, including but not limited to site survey, engineering submittals, and development of means and methods of construction. Responsibilities include site safety requirements, contract and budget management, construction and engineering work plan development, and ensuring that work completed on site meets the quality control requirements of the contract.
Requirements:
1. B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
2. 0-5 years experience on bridge and/or steel structures; must be proficient with AutoCAD
3. Responsible to learn construction practices as required for compliance with federal, state, and local codes; industry standards; company procedures; contractual requirements; etc.
4. Assists the Project Manager with required documents and information to support the successful completion of construction activities
5. Serves as a resource for project specifications, procedures, relevant portions of contract, etc.
6. Attends construction project meetings and safety meetings as assigned
Other Skills and Abilities:
1. Must be able to legally work in the United States.
2. Must be willing to work in a drug-free environment and agree to a post-offer drug test.
3. Must be willing to work safely and keep OSHA recordable incidents to a minimum.
4. Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards and specialty bridge design software; must be proficient with MS Office.
5. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively plan and organize to meet project deadlines.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None, but must work well with other Field Engineers, Project Managers, and Craft Personnel on the project.
Education and/or Experience:
A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience. Skills include the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers,
