The University of Oxford is seeking to appoint a Development Manager within the Estates Capital Projects team.

Oxford has an extraordinary estates capital programme of circa £160m annually (total programme is up to £1.0 billion) including many large-scale and high-profile projects emanating from the University’s estate strategy. The Development Manager will lead a diverse portfolio capital projects, with a specific remit for overseeing the capital programme for the Medical Sciences Division (MSD), with a current value exceeding £250m. Your duties will include leading the management, monitoring, and coordination of the MSD capital project programme, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, on time, and in compliance with legislation and University governance.
The successful candidate will possess proven experience of leading the development and delivery of a complex portfolio of project ranging from small-scale improvement schemes to major projects. Delivery-focused and with a high degree of commercial acumen, you will be able to demonstrate a proven track record in ensuring quality, value for money across a diverse range of capital projects. Experience of working on projects to deliver research, clinical and academic facilities would be advantageous although not essential.
As a Development Manager in a client-side role, you will be adept working successfully with delivery partners, fostering a positive, collaborative and high-performance culture. The role calls for an individual that is adept at stakeholder management, given the vast array of internal and external stakeholders involved in the delivery of projects across the Oxford estate.
