Nelipak Elsham - a leading flexible packaging business is looking for a Quality Manager to join a growing organisation that is constantly looking for new ways to expand and develop our systems, processes and most importantly, our staff.
Purpose of the role:
Responsible for developing and delivering quality and compliance strategy on site. You will ensure, through effective procedures, monitoring and coaching that all products produced on site are safe and comply with agreed specifications/ standards and that all systems and procedures confirm to internal and external standards and policy.
Specific responsibilities:
1. Develop a 3 – 5-year plan for the improvement of Quality on site;
2. Ensure that products provided by Nelipak Elsham Ltd meet both the requirements of the Quality Management system and customer specification;
3. Reviewing the QMS on an annual basis;
4. Ensure Elsham site is compliant with all current regulatory laws and all technical data/docs are up to date and apply changes when needed;
5. Ensure that all aspects of ISO and BRC standards are led and maintained. Oversee and co-ordinate internal audits, customer and compliance visits, maintaining all accreditations;
6. Manage the Quality element of contract/specification review, working with customers to identify specifications and permanent solutions to Quality issues and working closely with the commercial team, CI, process engineers and Operations teams to achieve the required quality standards, outputs and to implement Quality process improvements;
7. Lead all elements of Quality Control, document control, calibrations, customer Quality interface and supplier Quality assurance by developing key supplier partnerships;
8. Develop and deliver Good Manufacturing practices and work with team to develop engagement of all employees in the improvement of Quality, creating training and quality standards to enhance and ensure competence;
9. Management of the Quality Control Department including annual goal setting/evaluations of subordinates' performances, and continuous development of the QC Team, lead and inspire QC team to achieve goals through innovation, quality and excellence;
10. Management of quality and trial requirements for all customers through the QC Team;
11. Identify and maintain the Quality Budget, ensuring the reduction in risk from claims and all potential costs;
12. Be responsible for all Quality KPI targets, implement recommendations and ensuring performance achievement;
13. Fully participate where required as a member of the Elsham leadership team making sure the appropriate actions are taken to drive safety, efficiency, Quality, within Elsham site;
14. Lead the WCM Pillar identifying the origin of losses, root causes, develop problem solving in your teams and ensure continuous improvement. Implement Improvement actions and reduce all Non-Value-added activity. Lead continuous improvement programmes towards being a “risk free supplier”;
15. Any other tasks commensurate with the level of the position.
What will you bring?
1. Years + FMCG Operation experience (preferably within the Flexible Packaging Industry)
2. Proven knowledge of BRC, COSHH and relevant H&S regulations
3. Experience in leading a team, ability to coach & train colleagues in new/improved ways of working
4. Strong co-ordination, planning & organisational skills
5. Willingness to learn new skills and be open to new ideas
6. Good emotional intelligence and self-awareness
7. Possess a ‘Can-do attitude’, and be able to work to high standards and to deadlines
8. Ability to interface with external bodies (Suppliers, Regulatory organisations, auditors, customers)
9. Ability to carry out data analysis, prepare and compile reports/KPI trackers in Microsoft Office packages.
10. Ability to create and deliver Quality and CI training programmes and lead cross functional project/improvement teams.
