Our Opportunity:
The PLM Application Specialist will be working as part of a wider applications team providing expertise across a range of project delivery and operational support services:
* Project Management and Solution delivery for PLM Systems
* Functional Consulting Services for PLM Systems
* Application Support Services for PLM Systems
* Lifecycle Management Services for PLM Applications
The role reports to the Director of Applications as a Service.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
* Working individually and as part of a wider team to implement, test, deploy, and support solutions for leveraging PTC Windchill Product Lifecycle Management (PLM).
* Working closely with key customer stakeholders to understand current business process, issues and challenges.
* Following full project lifecycle requirements, develop a solution, perform quality assurance testing, and track progress to meet deadlines for internal projects.
* Supporting the upgrade and deployment of PLM solutions and modules across the Thales platform.
* Manage / provide input into small projects (potentially delivered by external parties).
* Support infrastructure design, system upgrades and customisations, work flow creation, and while working with the Apps team to develop solutions to meet business objectives.
* Interfacing with both business and other IT functions supporting the development of business and functional requirements, status updates, enhancements, deployments, and go-live support.
* Implementing solutions within multiple architectural environments including Linux, Windows, Apache, SQL Server and Oracle Database, etc.
* Developing documentation for software and customisations including user guides, installation guides, and end user work instructions.
* Learning new technologies and work alongside our experienced Consultants and Project Managers for hands-on learning.
* Leveraging your creativity to take initiative to propose alternative solutions.
About you
Skills:
Essential:
* PLM Solution expert – likely to have been in a functional consulting capacity.
* Delivery experience - across large/complex Transformation Programmes.
* Broad IT Knowledge – specifically on large ERP/PLM type systems.
* Knowledge/experience of design to implementation methodologies – with experience gained on PLM/ERP implementation projects.
* Technical IT (security, transaction processing, user interface, data management, Operating Systems Services).
* Understanding of SLA and Service Delivery.
* Good communicator, both written and verbal.
* Logical Analysis.
* Business awareness (Business case, organisation, business process, strategic planning, Business Functions).
* IT development skills (dba, sql, web).
* Excellent Word, Excel, VISIO, Powerpoint skills, Office technologies.
Desirable:
* Understanding of general project management process including knowledge of MS Project.
* Understanding/Empathy with Business Change/User Change impacts of IS changes.
Experience:
Essential:
* PLM implementation – Oracle or SAP.
* 5+ years experience administering PTC Windchill PLM.
* Expertise in Windchill PDMLink 10 & above.
* Expertise in Windchill upgrades from legacy versions to most recent version.
* Expertise in Windchill system and business administration.
* Experience in the following domains: PLM Methodology, BoM Lifecycle, Data Migration, Change Process, CAD, Data Classification, ERP.
* Knowledge and use of Java, JSP, JavaScript, J2EE, and/or XML for Windchill modifications.
* Experience in Windchill customization.
* Ability to handle multiple activities, including infrastructure design, system upgrades and customisations, work flow creation.
* In excess of 5 years experience in the IT Industry (preferably within an Engineering Company).
Desirable:
* Training in PLM solution – technical, end-user and processes.
* Use of VMware technologies and application virtualisation.
Qualifications:
Essential:
* Degree/HND or an equivalent in a relevant IT subject.
Desirable:
* Any related IS certifications/qualifications/training.
