An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Kenyon ward, nursing up to 22 patients who have undergone complex surgery. We are looking for an individual who will thrive in supporting a team caring for patients with complex orthopaedic needs and can adapt quickly in the event of patient deterioration.
Good knowledge of central venous devices and their management would be advantageous, although not essential as training can be offered.
Please note we are unable to support applicants who require OSCE, as the Trust has a separate and limited application process.

The successful candidate will be a Registered Nurse (General) with good communication skills, the ability to assist with change, and the drive to improve and develop clinical practice. They will need to be a motivated and confident individual who shows initiative, is a team player, is flexible, and reliable to meet the demands of the service while demonstrating consistently high standards of work.

Job responsibilities
Under the direction of the Ward/Department Manager, the post holder is responsible for providing skilled high-quality nursing care within a multidisciplinary environment, ensuring individualized and effective care is practiced.
Contribute to the continuity of good team spirit and high standards of nursing care, empowering junior staff to develop their clinical skills and facilitating communication within all care groups.
Utilizing the ward/department resources to promote excellence in practice and expedite quality issues relevant to service delivery.
Professional and Clinical issues
Be accountable for maintaining own nursing practice and take every reasonable opportunity to sustain and improve knowledge and professional competence.
To be responsible for the delivery of patient-centered care, maintaining own specialist knowledge and clinical skills, participating in direct patient care, and upholding evidence of PREP standards as required by the NMC.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered General Nurse with current NMC registration
* Post-registration orthopaedic qualification
* Able to take charge of the team
* Technical skills such as venepuncture, cannulation, central venous devices, and their management
Skills
* Ability to adapt to changing pressures of work.
Knowledge
* High level of communication skills and ability to work within a team
* Basic computer skills
