TSMC Arizona is looking for a Quality Management Engineer intern to join our 4-nanometer fab, located in sunny Phoenix, Arizona. As a Quality Management Engineer Intern, you will co-work with the Taiwan Central quality team to support the TSMC quality mission by leading and inspiring world-class quality systems. All interns will be part of a 10-week technical development program within our state-of-the-art semiconductor facilities. This program is designed to identify future engineering leaders of TSMC Arizona. The development program will offer valuable industry and functional insight. You will have the opportunity to have a mentor and learn from senior engineers and executives at the company.
What you will learn & how you will contribute:
1. Monitoring and analysis of the wafer fabrication process, equipment parameters, manufacturing, factory facilities, and incoming material react to wafer quality indicators and quality events.
2. Applying statistical process control methods to establish and sustain a robust manufacturing process control. Standardizing and documenting control models and methodologies.
3. Predictive analytics and statistical applications including modeling, machine learning, data science, process control methods, and developing and implementing methods for specialized applications.
4. Driving global compliance to manufacturing quality standards and success of fab quality system certifications.
5. Providing quality guidance to ensure product success at launch and throughout high volume technology ramp.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States and have:
* Currently enrolled at an accredited university, in Bachelor, Master, or Ph.D. degree in Industrial Engineering, Statistics Engineering, Material Science, or Physics.
* Able to work full-time (40 hours per week) on-site at our Phoenix location from:
* Semester system: May 19th, 2025 – August 1st, 2025
* Quarter system: June 16th, 2025 – August 29th, 2025
The candidate is expected to utilize statistical knowledge, basic coding skills, curiosity, and willingness to learn basic semiconductor process flow to analyze wafer fabrication data to detect and solve quality-related issues and support continuous improvement.
Self-motivated learner, good at proactive collaboration, and should get the opportunity to work in a team presenting and discussing their work and ideas.
Strong communication, computer, presentation, listening skills, and ability to work with others are needed to contribute to the team and TSMC Arizona’s culture.
