Project Manager - PSTN Switch Off - 12 month FTC
Our dynamic Technology Projects team is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join us at an incredibly exciting time for the business as we embark on a critical PSTN Switch Off project. This role is key to ensuring business continuity, operational resilience, and regulatory compliance by managing the transition from legacy PSTN systems to modern, future-proof solutions across our UK properties.
Working closely with teams from Information, Data and Technology, Estates, Procurement, Contractors, and key suppliers, you will play an active role in delivering this business-critical project. You will be responsible for forging strong relationships with stakeholders across the business, leading the planning and execution of the project to ensure a seamless and efficient transition while mitigating service disruption risks and optimising cost efficiencies.
This role is based in our Bristol office and is a 12 month fixed-term contract.
What You'll Be Doing
* Oversee the end-to-end delivery of the PSTN switch-off project, ensuring all milestones are achieved within time, cost, and quality constraints.
* Conduct and manage a comprehensive survey of existing PSTN lines, mapping associated assets such as fire alarms, lifts, and other critical systems.
* Develop and implement a phased rollout plan, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations and compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Liaise and collaborate with internal teams and external vendors, to ensure project alignment and successful execution.
* Manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, implementing mitigation strategies to reduce potential business impacts.
* Ensure regulatory compliance, particularly in relation to BS5839 standards and the overall PSTN switch-off deadlines.
* Prepare and manage project budgets, tracking expenditures and ensuring cost-effective solutions.
* Monitor project progress against the timeline, providing regular updates and reports to stakeholders and project sponsors.
* Co-ordinate training and change management initiatives, ensuring end-users are well-prepared for the new technology solutions.
* Ensure smooth handover to operational teams, including the documentation of lessons learned and benefits realisation post-implementation.
What We're Looking for in You
* Proven experience in managing large-scale technology infrastructure projects, preferably within the telecoms or property sectors.
* Strong knowledge of PSTN systems and replacement technologies, including regulatory compliance requirements such as BS5839 and telecoms infrastructure best practices.
* Excellent project management skills, with experience in managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects from initiation to completion.
* Proficiency in project management methodologies, such as Prince2, PMP, or Agile, with the ability to apply best practices to project delivery.
* Experience in managing third-party suppliers and contractors, ensuring successful delivery and compliance with contractual obligations.
* Strong budget management capabilities, with the ability to develop forecasts, track expenditures, and optimise project costs.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively engage and communicate across multiple business functions.
* Familiarity with project management tools such as MS Project, Monday.com, and Smartsheets.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating project risks.
* Familiarity with the Building Safety Act and Access Agreements, including Wayleaves.
