Tuesday - Saturday (37.5 hours per week)
Our vibrant Red Cross shop in Hornby is buzzing with energy, and we’re looking for a dynamic individual to join our team! If you have a keen eye for fashion and a passion for delivering a warm, welcoming shopping experience, we want you on board. We're looking for someone who is confident in driving sales, hitting targets, and thriving in a fast-paced environment. You’ll work closely with our Shop Manager on Manchester Street, helping to manage stock allocation and ensure our store stays at the top of its game.
In this role you will:
* Oversee day-to-day operations of the shop, including presentation, stock-sorting, pricing and opening and closing procedures.
* Lead a team of Assistant Managers, Volunteers and support an effective and collaborative team environment, while maintaining shop rosters to ensure effective shop operations.
* Recruit, train and retain shop employees with the support of the Retail Regional Manager.
* Foster a positive team culture by providing training and development opportunities to enhance customer service and skills.
* Provide superior customer service and lead by example, maintaining professionalism and ensuring all employees and volunteers reflect the New Zealand Red Cross values.
* Provide monthly reports on shop performance, sales trends, donations, and volunteer activities to the Retail Regional Manager.
* Be available to work Tuesday to Saturday.
To be successful you will have:
* Demonstrated knowledge of retail operations, stock management, sales drivers, administration, banking and cash handling.
* A minimum of 2 years experience in a management role, preferably in retail or a customer service oriented role.
* Proven ability to lead, motivate, train, and develop teams, ensuring high performance and fostering a positive work environment.
* Exceptional customer service skills, including the ability to manage difficult situations and de-escalate conflicts effectively.
* Knowledge around ensuring all goods are priced within the Price guidelines.
* Experience in training and leading volunteers with diverse skills and abilities.
